This Thursday, matchday 25 of Liga NOS continued with Vitoria Guimaraes welcoming Sporting. In a match with four goals, both sides divided points with a 2-2 draw. Joao Carlos Teixeira and Marcus Edwards scored for the Conquers, while Andraz Sporar scored twice for the Lions.
The hosts were the ones to propose the game during the first minutes. Already at the 5th minute, they had a very good chance of scoring with Edward. However, the ones who broke the deadlock were the visitors. At the 18th minute, goalkeeper Douglas Jesus received a bad pass, allowing Sporar to steal the ball, and to finish home to the empty net.
However, the same would happen to Sporting later in the first half. At the 32nd minute, goalkeeper Luis Maximiano experienced a poor pass, as Joseph Amoah recovered the ball and assisted Joao Teixeira, who scored.
The Lions had more chances of scoring during the first 45 minutes but missed their opportunities. With that, both teams went to the locker room with a draw on the scoreboard.
In the second half, at the first opportunity created, Sporting went ahead on the scoring again. Jovane Cabral sent a long ball to Sporar, who rounded the goalkeeper and scored. The linesman lifted the flag and the VAR was called. After analyses, they saw that there was no offside position. The match was 2-1 Sporting.
Behind the scoring, Vitoria Guimaraes had to go forward and search at least an equalizer. And after some time, the attacks paid off. At the 68th minute, Edwards took the opportunity given and put the ball into the back of the net.
The hosts still had one player less until the end of the match, once Amoah was sent off after a dangerous foul. Even with one more, the visitors were not able to score, stopping at goalkeeper Douglas.
With the draw, Sporting kept in the 4th position, with 43 points, while Vitoria Guimaraes remained out of the top 5, staying in 7th place, with 38 points.
