This Sunday, SPAL welcomed Torino for matchday 36 of the Serie A TIM. At the Paolo Mazza, both teams shared points after a 1-1 draw constructed during the second half. Marco D’Alessandro scored for the hosts, while Simone Verdi scored for the visitors.
The first half had a lot of shots from both sides, but not many on target. Already at the early minutes, the Bulls were having their first chance with Zaza, who sent a low shot but the ball went wide. The hosts also had their chance, with Cionek, but the lack of aiming was basically a feature of the first 45 minutes. So, they went to the locker room with a goalless draw.
As the second half started, you could see that Torino were showing more power, as they hit the post already in the early minutes. So, it was not a surprise when they broke the deadlock at the 57th minute, with Verdi. Tomas Rincon served the number 24, who scored a stunner to open the scoring.
5 minutes later, they almost doubled their lead, but Zaza’s shot looped onto the roof of the goal. The goal would be missed, as in the 80th minute, the hosts were able to level the game. Bryan Dabo stole the ball in the midfield and found D’Alessandro, who shot into the far corner, with no chances to goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.
The match ended with a lot of pressure from the hosts, however, the scoring didn’t chance and they left the field with 1 point each after a 1-1 draw.
Both teams don’t fight for anything on the season, so the result didn’t really make any difference. SPAL are already relegated, being in the last position with only 20 points. Meanwhile, Torino reached 39 points, being in 16th place. Both teams return to the pitch this Wednesday, the Spallini will visit Hellas Verona, as the Bulls will welcome AS Roma.
