Even after the recent conquest of the current season of the Premier League, the defending UEFA Champions League champion, Liverpool is keeping an eye on possible moves for the next season. According to some reports coming from Germany, Jurgen Klopp’s side would be on the verge of signing Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara.
Apparently, the Reds would have reached an agreement with the player, and it would be only a matter of convincing Bayern to lower the Spain international’s pricetag.
Also, parts must yet agree on the payment method, as the Bavarians want 35 million euros for the midfielder, but the Reds want to go for a price reduction, with the possibility of involving one or two players in the business.
Jurgen Klopp sees Thiago with good eyes, and he would indeed be a huge add-on into the current Liverpool squad. That’s ironic, as Thiago helped Bayern a lot when he was facing the same Klopp when he was managing Borussia Dortmund.
But apparently, all the German coach has towards the Spaniard, is admiration.
The Reds have won everything they could, with the club being the current European, World, and England champions. That’s a huge plus to attract a player with the right mentality such as Thiago.
Another huge advantage is that Thiago is also Brazilian, and currently, there are three Brazilians at the Liverpool squad, and all of them are starters under Jurgen Klopp.
Of course, this help a lot in case the Spain international realistically joins the Reds.
The only concern of some fans is that despite the Liverpool midfielder doesn’t look class on paper, they come together outstandingly when playing.
Thiago would have to fight for his place into the first team, but it’s always good to have good replacements in case something happens.
