Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Premier League teams continue to move in the transfer market. Finally, but apparently, something has got out of just rumors, and according to the ‘Mirror’, Tottenham reached an agreement with Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser.
In the last seasons of the Premier League, Tottenham has adopted a different attitude towards the transfer market. They went for a conservative approach, and kept their players, and didn’t sign anyone.
However, that was the Mauricio Pochettino era, and he indeed made a great job, carrying the Spurs to a UEFA Champions League final which they lost to English rivals, Liverpool.
Now under Portuguese Jose Mourinho, the thing is apparently different, and the market moves are just beginning in the Spurs.
However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the financial crisis is knocking on the door of all teams and this can have a negative effect on Jose’s plans for the next season. Thus, a possible solution is to bet on free players, loans, or swaps deals.
The first player is Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser and the deal will be costless for Tottenham, because Fraser’s contract expires next month.
Ryan Fraser is a 26-year-old Scottish striker who has been playing for Bournemouth since 2013. The 2018-19 season was by far the best one of his career though. The player stood out and scored nine goals plus 18 assists in 44 games, raising interest from big-six clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, and Tottenham.
In contrast, in the current season, he scored just one goal and made four assists. Numbers that are way below the ideal and this makes Spurs’ fans doubt Frasers, at least in this first moment.
It’s going to be up to the Scottish striker himself to prove his worth, and to get his space in a squad that has Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, and Lucas Moura.
