Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lives a spectacular and dreamy star as interim coach of Manchester United. With a 1-0 win over Tottenham on this Sunday (13th) for the English Premier League, the coach no only won his first major test in charge of the Red Devils, against a strong opponent and a commander who is in the sights of the Red club himself (Mauricio Pochettino), as well as equaled a historical record of the team.
Solskjaer won his sixth match in a row as United coach, which means he won his first six matches in charge of the club. The start of Solskjaer is the best in the history of a Manchester coach alongside the legendary Sir Matt Busby, who also won his first six matches as commander of the Red Devils.
Replacing the Portuguese Jose Mourinho, Solskjaer transformed Manchester United, who was in poor shape, playing terrible football and being criticized by the fans and media, making the team win matches against Cardiff, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Reading (for the FA Cup) and Tottenham. Of course that the most difficult match was the last one, but it does not matter for the fans, once they can see that the team is playing football once again and attacking, which didn’t happen with Mourinho.
The five victories in a row in the Premier League have made Manchester United considerably improve their situation in the competition. The club are still in 6th place but now tied with Arsenal (both with a total of 41 points) and only six behind Chelsea, the first team in the Champions League qualifying zone. The Red Devils now dream with a UCL spot, which is totally possible.
And, if things continue like that for the interim coach, he will probably be the head coach of Manchester United in the next season.
