One of the highlights of this season with the Arsenal kit, the Brazilian-Italian Gabriel Martinelli is paving his way to becoming one of the biggest promises in world football. His stats are absolutely outstanding for an 18-year-old, as he has scored 10 goals and four assists in 26 matches for the Gunners. However, in most of these matches, he came from the bench, which makes his numbers much better than it really is.
These numbers made Arsenal fans to nickname him as Gabigol. The striker was bought from the Brazilian side Ituano for 6 million pounds, and now, his estimated value is around 80 million euros.
A lot of teams are lacking a striker in their squad, and one of the most interested in Martinelli is Real Madrid, who signed Luka Jovic as a hope, but he ended up being a flop.
However, even in case the Merengues are up to pay the whole 80 million euros for the youngster – and I bet they are, as money doesn’t seem to be a problem for them-, should Arsenal really get rid of him?
In my personal opinion, Martinelli should stay at the Gunners, as history shows that Real Madrid fans literally fry up their great stars, as they have done in the past years, even with great players as Cristiano Ronaldo.
Martinelli can reach a great level, but he surely won’t be as good as CR7 was, and if Madrid fans got to the point of booing the Portuguese star for a couple of not-so-good displays, they will absolutely do the same and worst with Martinelli, or whoever goes there.
Besides that, with the imminent Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang departure from Arsenal, the Brazilian player can get more chances in the starters, and try to bring Arsenal back to the top in the English scenario.
