A tragic accident overshadowed a day of football that was meant to bring joy, feelings of euphoria, momentary discomfort. Everything … Less a death.
A helicopter. An accident. A drama A team.
Leicester, that team that starred in one of the greatest feats of world football in 2015, suffered the loss of its owner, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.
The ‘Foxes’ were left with a huge void, just like all of us. It is not yet known who will be the substitute or what will happen to the team.
Better times can come, as well as worse ones. It’s called uncertainty.
Even so, the management of Vichai will always be remembered in a club that has only been a pride for the city. The team, or rather, their team, managed to return to the Premier League and, if that was not enough, to win it.
In the same tournament where are both Manchester, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal. Not counting the majority of ‘half table’ teams that were superior to the Foxes.
But it happened. Such as this tragedy, without anyone expecting it.
Life is this way. One day you reach the Olympus and the other you are in the lowest.
One day you are and in the another, you are not.
The important thing about football, life and everything that is done is to leave a mark on the road. Or several. Always offer your neighbor, since good acts are the only thing left at the end of everything.
Srivaddhanaprabha gave a lesson to the world of football, business and the even simple population of a city infected by football fever.
A city that brought together the talents of Vardy and Mahrez …
Thanks to someone who first thought about it and contemplated it in his office.
For the joys of every weekend, for good football, for the illusion of a whole season, for the Premier League title, for a UEFA Champions League and for much more ….
See you soon, Vichai. Will always remember you.
