This Sunday afternoon, Juventus beat Parma by 2-1 in Turin, for the 20th Matchday of the Serie A. Cristiano Ronaldo was once again the highlight of the match, scoring two goals and giving the victory to the Old Lady.
The match was far from easy for Juventus though. Making a good campaign, Parma hardened the duel and came to frighten the home team in several opportunities. Once again it was up to the star CR7 to decide the confrontation.
The Portuguese broke the halt at the end of the first half, with a little bit of luck. At the 43rd minute, the number 7 received down the left-wing, pulled it to the middle, passed through two markers and fired. Halfway there, the ball deflected off and tricked goalkeeper Sepe, giving him no chances of saving.
However, Parma was able to get the draw at the beginning of the second half. At the 54th minute, Cornelius rose higher than Juve’s defense after a corner and equalized the match in Turin.
But, three minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo’s star shone again. Dybala made a move from the right, sent it into the middle of the area as CR7 secured his team’s 16th win at the Italian Serie A.
With second-placed Inter Milan stumbling earlier, Juve is isolated at the top of the table and opens four points clear on top. Parma continues with 28 points, in the 7th position.
The Old Lady will come back to the pitch on Wednesday, for a difficult match for the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia against Roma. The game will be in Turin. For the Italian League, their next match will also be a difficult one. They will travel to face Napoli on Sunday. Parma will have the midweek off and also on Sunday they will face Udinese, at home, for the 21st Matchweek of the Serie A.
