Richarlison has been one of the best players for Everton this season. The 21-year-old arrived at Goodison Park last summer from Watford for a fee of £40 million. He was impressive for the Hornets last season as he went on to score five Premier League goals. However, he was largely inconsistent for Watford during the second half of last season after current Toffees boss Marco Silva was sacked by Everton.
Many fans of Everton questioned whether the club was justified to spend such a high amount of money on the player, particularly as he did not prove to be very consistent last season. However, Brazilians critics have been proven wrong this season. The Brazilian has definitely added value to the Merseyside club as he has gone on to score 12 Premier League goals this season and recorded one assist.
As a result of Richarlison’s strong performances, has attracted the interest of a number of clubs across Europe’s top five Leagues and is reportedly also a target of Serie A club, AC Milan. Richarlison is a quality player and it is certainly understandable if he wants to leave Everton and join a club which can offer him the chance to play in the Champions League.
However, he must stay at Everton for at least another season. He still does have flaws in his game. He is virtually assured of game time at the Toffees for at least the near future. He can correct his flaws by staying with the Toffees for at least another season.
It also does often not go well when young players join so-called big clubs after just one good season. He must stay at Everton, continue to score goals and maintain a high level of consistency before considering a move away from Goodison Park.
