Real Madrid presented this Tuesday its new young jewel, Reinier. In the presentation, the player’s shirt still had no number, however, it is expected that he will be number 19. The 18-year-old Brazilian, who used to play for Flamengo, was so emotional that he even cried. For him, it was really a dream coming true.
The Madrid team is well-known for spending fortunes on young players, sometimes when the player is not even playing as a starter on their club, and this time it wasn’t different. The Merengues have a strong position in the transfer market, especially when it comes to young talents. Who wouldn’t like to play for Real Madrid?!
Reinier will currently play for Real Madrid Castilla, the team that plays the 3rd Division in Spain and is lead by former legend Raul, to gain experience and develop. He will not be the first, nor will he be the last, to pass trough Castilla or be loaned to any club before reaching the main team. It is important for boys that come from South America or other small European leagues to do so before they face high-level championships.
In the current squad, the biggest club in the world has many young players, who arrived in the same way as Reinier, such as, for example, the Brazilians: Casemiro, Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao, and Rodrygo, besides the young boys from other countries, such as Valverde and Brahim Diaz. In addition to these names, Real Madrid also has other promising players on loan, such as Odegaard, Vallejo, Reguilon, Ceballos, Lunin, and Kubo.
Reinier arrives with two titles in his luggage, with one of them being the Copa Libertadores, the Champions League of South America, won by Flamengo. In his past club, he played only 15 games and scored 6 goals. His contract with Real Madrid goes until 2026.
