Borussia Dortmund striker Jadon Sancho could be heading to the Spanish capital Madrid, as his name is being speculated as the main Real Madrid target for the summer transfer window. The news was published in the Spanish newspaper As. However, the Merengues will have to face the competition of two English clubs.
The Manchester duo, United, and City have also shown interest in counting on the Englishman. Naturally, these two English clubs could be ahead at least in terms of the youngster Sancho’s heart, as he’s English and has seen a lot of these clubs’ glory moments.
The 20-year-old striker has been the highlight of Borussia Dortmund. Sancho got there back in 2017, and since then, has been regularly playing a major role in the club’s Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League campaigns.
The English lad ads up to 34 goals scored in 94 games. Half of the goals were in the Bundesliga. Sancho also stands out playing the wingman role, as he has many assists throughout his Borussia Dortmund career.
He is also the youngest athlete among the ten most valuable players in the world, with an estimated value, by Transfermarkt, of 117 million euros. Thus, the Englishman is the most valuable player on his team and also in the German Bundesliga. Yet in the list mentioned before, Sancho is ahead of his teammate Erling Haaland, and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
In the English National team, he is the third most valuable player, only behind Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane.
Of course, we’ll see a lot of competition for the young lad Sancho, but maybe it would be a good thing for him to try to stay a little bit more at Dortmund, which was the club who opened the doors for him and really gave him the chances he couldn’t find in England.
He’s an absolute starter in the Yellow & Black, and that’s not guaranteed that he’s going to have enough game time under Pep Guardiola or Zinedine Zidane.
