Seeking rehabilitation in the Spanish league, after the two stumblings in the last rounds, Real Madrid went to the Benito Villamarín stadium to face Real Betis. Coming from a draw and a defeat, the “Merengues” finally succeeded again and defeated the home team by 2-1. Modric and Ceballos scored for Madrid and Canales rocked the net for Betis.

The first half was quite busy and both teams had opportunities. While Real Madrid had more shots, Betis had more than 70% of ball possession. In the 13th minute, it was the whites that opened the scorer. Carvajal made a good effort at breaking through on the right and shot, the ball deflected on the home team’s defense and went straight to Luka Modric, who put it at the corner of the goal.

With Vinicius Junior, who is already recovered from a flu that he had suffered in the last days, the “Merengues” were more incisive. The Brazilian was well in the first half, almost scored a goal and showed quality in individual plays. Even having more the ball, the home team didn’t bring danger to Keylor Navas and the scorer ended up 0-1 for the visitors during the half time.

In the second half, Betis appeared more often in the attack and was rewarded in the 68th minute, when Canales scored the equalizer. The home team midfielder received a deep pass and shot the ball under Navas. The referee even canceled the goal, but the VAR was called and validated the goal. From them on, Betis was the only one attacking and the goalkeeper of Real Madrid saved the team several times.

Despite the pressure from Betis, it was Real who managed to reach the second goal. Ceballos confirmed their lead at the 88th minute, finishing with a half-volley shot just below the bar. With the result, Real Madrid is in the fourth place of La Liga, with 33 points, while Betis in seventh, with 26 points.
