Paris Saint-Germain acted clever in this Summer window and announced two Spaniards to strengthen up their Squad. These are the former Manchester United Ander Herrera, and former Sevilla Pablo Sarabia.
Herrera arrived for “free”, as he did not renovate his contract with the Red Devils. Eyeing his situation, the Parisians were fast and closed the deal for the 29-year-old who signed a 5-year-deal, until June 2024, with the French Club. He began his career at Spanish side Real Zaragoza, and also played for Athletic Bilbao before landing in the Red part of Manchester, back in 2014. Down there, Herrera played 189 games and scored 20 goals with 22 assists.
– Paris Saint-Germain is the biggest club in France. Keep improving and competing to win every possible title. I was anxious to come to Paris and wear those colors. I love the city too, it’s the most beautiful in the world. I promise three things: work, professionalism, and passion. I also promise to improve my French because I think language is very important for team communication – said the Spaniard.
In addition to Herrera, PSG have confirmed so far to sign yet another Spaniard midfielder. Pablo Sarabia, from Sevilla
Sarabia also signed a 5-year-deal with the Parisians, and can surely help out the French club, who lost Adrien Rabiot to Juventus.
Before closing with PSG, Sarabia defended Sevilla for three seasons. In the team from Andalusia, he played 151 matches, scored 43 goals and 39 assists. Curiously, his best season was this last one, as he scored half of his total goals for the club, with 23 goals and 17 assists.
If I were a PSG supporter, I’d be way more excited about Sarabia than Herrera. The latter is a good piece to have as a back-up defensive-midfielder. However, Sarabia can become something else with Thomas Tuchel. I’m curious to see the former Sevilla player in action for PSG.
