According to the newspaper “The Times”, Premier League dirigents would be considering a date to return the competition. It would be at the beginning of June and it would go until the 27th of July.
When the competition was paralyzed, still in March, due to the world problem with the Covid-19, there were only 9 matches left. Because of that, and of course, the financial break that could happen if the season was canceled, they are trying everything to make it come back.
The solution would be to make the matches behind closed doors and with no more than 500 people inside the stadium, including journalists.
It would also be necessary for those who will be inside the stadium to be tested for the virus and, of course, these who will take part would have to test negative for it. Apart from that, they were also suggesting additional locker rooms so the players could keep the necessary distance from one another.
They also said that the players would be responsible for their own things like their uniforms and everything.
Some clubs said that they think it would be better to cancel the season, but that could cause a great problem financially. Especially for the small clubs. And there are just 9 matches ahead. It won’t take too much time to finish it. However, it will be important to be careful and see if it really is okay to come back now. The players and staff need to be safe.
Apart from the possible come back of the 2019-20 season, they also planned the start of the next season. According to the newspapers, the season 2020/21 would start on the 22nd of August. Let’s just hope that things can go as they are planning. We all miss football a lot and it would be really great if it could come back, even though it would have to be behind closed doors.
