Group A:
Club Brugge – Monaco: This match may be interesting. Both sides have no points and in case of a draw on this game, it may likely be the end of the European dream for both. I’ll go with Monaco.
Borussia Dortmund – Atletico Madrid: Probably the most equal battle on the whole Group Stages. The German side leads the Bundesliga and relies on Marco Reus and Christian Pulisic plus the crazy atmosphere at the Signal Iduna Park against the consistent Spanish side, who may cause some harm with Diego Costa and Antoine Griezmann. Dortmund will have a hard time, but they will succeed at home.
Group B:
PSV – Tottenham: Another very good game, and on the exact same scenario of Group A. Both teams having conquered no points and in case of both teams end up sharing points, it will probably mean the end of the line. Unfortunately, I see a draw happening.
Barcelona – Internazionale: Well, it will take place at Catalonia, and in normal conditions, it would mean a certain win for Barcelona. However, as Lionel Messi is injured, and Mauro Icardi is on fire, Internazionale may surprise the Catalans. Inter pinch a win with an Icardi late goal.
Group C:
Paris Saint-German – Napoli: This should be interesting. Napoli are leading the Group with 4 as the French are in third, with 3. A draw would not be a disaster, mainly for the Italians. However, it is not likely that PSG will waste points in France. PSG 3-1.
Liverpool – Red Star Belgrade: The Reds should be easily leading this Group if it wasn’t the bad luck against Napoli on the previous round. Jurgen Klopp’s men need to turn on the Turbo mode they’ve been on last season and destroy Red Star as PSG did. Liverpool 4-0.
Group D:
Galatasaray – Schalke: It’s actually so hard to beat the Turkish side in Turkey, that even living a good moment a playing a good football, Schalke will head back to Germany with no points.
Lokomotiv Moscow – Porto: Even in Russia, Lokomotiv are the weakest side of this group, it shouldn’t be a problem for Porto to go back to Portugal with 3 points.
Group E:
AEK Athens – Bayern Munich: Bayern Munich are unrecognizable this season. It’s a pity they will play against such an easy side as AEK. Bayern win.
Ajax – Benfica: The Dutch side have been playing the best Football on Group E and they will not have problems facing the Portuguese side. 2-0 Ajax.
Group F:
Shakhtar – Manchester City: City usually don’t play well when it comes to European Football. They will play exactly the same style as always. Having the ball possession, and with the traditional Fake Pressure that only Guardiola knows how to create. I think they will be 1-0 up and then will concede a late equalizer, and it will be the funniest thing you’ll see this week. 1-1.
Hoffenheim – Lyon: If I had the power to decide what’s going to happen on Football, I would set everything up for these two to go on. Despite being bottom of the Group, Hoffenheim play a good football, and so do Lyon. I see a draw coming.
Group G:
Real Madrid – Viktoria Plzen: Real Madrid are the same as Bayern. Unrecognizable, mainly after the departure of Ronaldo. They will make up for having been playing mediocre Football so far and they will destroy Plzen. 6-0 Real Madrid.
Roma – CSKA Moscow: Last season’s semifinalists, Roma will have a good game against the Russian side. However, it will not be difficult for the Italians to get three more points.
Group H:
Young Boys – Valencia: There isn’t even that much to say about this one. Valencia will end Young Boys.
Manchester United – Juventus: There we go! The Heavyweight clash. Cristiano Ronaldo back at Old Trafford. Under normal conditions, it would be a memorable match, and maybe a 3-3. However, with United playing such a “Park-the-bus” Football, Ronaldo will show mercy and will score just two. Juventus 2-0.
That’s it, guys! I hope I can perform better than the Second Round, where I missed a lot of games. Let’s see if we can bang at least 90% of these predictions!
Good UCL!
