Group A –
Atlético Madrid – Club Brugge: Let’s begin with the club from the Spanish capital against the Belgian club. Playing at the Wanda Metropolitano, it will be a tough mission for the Belgians, that’s why I’m backing Atleti on this one.
Borussia Dortmund – Monaco: The leaders of the Bundesliga are going to face the French side Monaco. This clash involves a peculiar story. On the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League Quarter-Finals, both sides faced each other and the French side was the winner. However, Dortmund fans remember the attack the team’s bus suffered on their way to the Stadium, in Dortmund. The match was postponed, but still, Dortmund lost the first leg at home. This time, it will be different. I’ll go with a Dortmund win.
Group B –
PSV – Internazionale: Even playing away, I think the Italian side might get out of the Netherlands with the three points. The Dutch side was crashed against Barcelona on the 1st round, and they are faded to be the bottom of the group.
Tottenham – Barcelona: A heavyweight clash in here. Harry Kane vs Lionel Messi. Christian Eriksen vs Philippe Coutinho. It’s gonna be a nice match to watch, a desperate English side, who let the win slip away on the last minute against Internazionale, will go hard on the Spanish side. I think Messi will not be able to avoid a Barcelona defeat on this one. Tottenham win.
Group C –
Paris Saint-Germain – Red Star Belgrade: The French side is way favorites to win this clash. They let the win slip away against Liverpool on the last minute as well, as Red Star grabbed a point against Napoli on the first round, which was pretty interesting. PSG will find their way back to the victory.
Napoli – Liverpool: The Italian side will go savage on Liverpool, and it can be pretty interesting for the English side, who loves to counter-attack. Since the Virgil van Dijk arrival, Liverpool seemed to have fixed a problem they have on their defense and have consolidated themselves as one of the Top-5 teams in Europe. It will be hard, but Liverpool will win again.
Group D –
Lokomotiv Moscow – Schalke: Not much to say on this one. If I would put my money on this game, I would go for a draw.
Porto – Galatasaray: Galatasaray thrashed Lokomotiv Moscow at home on the first round. However, the Portuguese Champions are seeking a victory and playing at their home, it will be a tough mission for the Turkish side. Porto win this one.
Group E –
AEK Athens – Benfica: The Greek side is one of the weakest teams on this UCL season, so Benfica will probably not have so many problems to beat them. However, the local atmosphere can be a point to worry for the Portuguese side.
Bayern Munich – Ajax: Another heavyweight clash in here. Even playing at home, I’ve got a good feeling about the Dutch side, and I think they will manage to get out of Germany with a good result, and unexpected for many, result. Ajax to win.
Group F –
Hoffenheim – Manchester City: After being defeated at home on the first round, the Citizens want to make it up and travel back to England with the three points from Germany. However, Hoffenheim are a good team, so I will go for a draw.
Lyon – Shakhtar Donetsk: Following the win of the dreams for the French side against City, Lyon have everything to make it to the Round of 16 as the First place on Group F. The Ukrainian side will not be a problem for Lyon, of the inspired Nabil Fekir.
Group G –
CSKA Moscow – Real Madrid: It’s always a difficult mission to play in Russia, but Real Madrid are the European Champions, aren’t they? So, even without Ronaldo, they will go for a win against CSKA.
Roma – Viktoria Plzen: I’m sorry, but Roma will beat the heck out of Plzen at the Olympic Stadium. The Italian side will make it up for the defeat against Madrid on the First round.
Group H –
Juventus – Young Boys: Juventus will end Young Boys. They will not count with Ronaldo, who was sent-off on the last match against Valencia, the Old Lady will not play at home.
Manchester United – Valencia: United are in crisis. The Mourinho – Pogba beef is real, and it’s being harmful to both sides, and, mainly, for the club itself. They better watch out against the Spanish side. United will be 1-0 up but will concede a late goal and the match will end up with both sharing points.
Well guys, that’s my predictions for this Second Round! Let’s see how many we can get!
