In the Portuguese Liga NOS’ 19th matchday, Porto thrashed Vitoria de Setubal 4-0 away from home. Jesus Corona, Alex Telles, Tiquinho Soares, and Luiz Diaz scored for the Blue Dragons and thus the team reached 47 points and is seven points from leader Benfica. While Vitória got 25 points in 8th place, seven points from Famalicao, who currently holds the UEFA Europa League spot.

With a team in the best phase, Porto started commanding the match. In the first minutes, the Dragons reached 70% possession in some moments and ended up the first half with 61%.

After much pressure from the visitors, Porto opened the scoring with Corona at 39′. One became two, four minutes later through Brazilian left-back Alex Telles.

Soon after returning from half-time, Porto expanded their lead through Tiquinho Soares. Then, the pace slowed and Vitoria de Setubal grew into the game, but without much efficiency.

The hosts had two finishes that could’ve been converted into a goal, but both went inches from the net.

Then it was Porto who scored once again. With 90+1 on the clock, the visitors finished the rout through Luis Diaz.

Parked in 8th position with 25 points, Vitoria de Setubal will face Moreirense next Sunday for the 20th matchweek of the Portuguese League. Meanwhile, Porto plays on Tuesday against the Academico de Viseu for the 1st leg match of the Portuguese Cup semifinal.

Porto’s next match for the League will happen next Saturday, in the derby against Portuguese Leaders Benfica.

It’s maybe the crucial moment for the Blue Dragons to try to catch up with Benfica in the table. The clash between leaders and second-place will happen at the Estadio do Dragao, and the atmosphere will be totally in Porto’s side. The difference can be reduced to 4 points in case of a win from the Blues.
