Between two important matches against Barcelona, United played this Saturday for the Premier League. The match was against West Ham, on the mythological Old Trafford. And the home team was able to get a 2-1 victory. Pogba scored two goals, while Felipe Anderson was the one to score for the away side.
The first half was not that good, with just two shots to the goal. However, there were two important moments that the referee appeared. The first one, just at the beginning of the match, was a goal scored by Felipe Ander after a pass from Chicharito. The auxiliar wrongly put the flag up, saying the Brazilian was on outside position, which was totally wrong. After that, the referee saw a doubtful penalty from Snodgrass on Mata, and that was Pogba’s first goal, at the 18th minute.
The match was way better in the second half. West Ham came back better and United also, after Rashford come in, and soon the chances of goal started to appear. At the 48th minute, Lazini crossed the ball to Felipe Anderson, who draw the scoring. And the Hammers didn’t score the second because of a brilliant save from De Gea and also the post. On a counter-attack, things finally got better to the Red Devils. Martial was brought down inside the area, and they had another penalty. Pogba stepped up once again and gave the victory to United.
The victory was very important to Manchester United, who are fighting against Tottenham, Chelsea, and Arsenal for a place on next year’s Champions League. The Red Devils are now on the 5th place with 64 points, 2 less than the Blues – who are the first ones on the classification zone. West Ham, on the other hand, remains on the 11th place, with 42 points. Next week they face Leicester trying to get more points and a better place on the table.
