Brescia hosted Parma for the first game of matchday 36 of the Serie A TIM. At the Mario Rigamonti Stadium, we saw a very busy game, with opportunities for both sides, which ended with the visitors’ victory by 2-1. Daniele Dessena scored for the hosts, whilst Matteo Darmian and Dejan Kulusevski guaranteed the three points to the visitors.
As it was expected, the away side started the first half trying to impose their pace. Already at the 10th minute, they had created their first good chance. However, after that, the match became a little slow, with a lot of fouls and not many opportunities created by any of them. Parma kept being the one to arrive more in the attacking field, with the hosts only being able to actually shot already at the late minutes. With that, both teams went goalless to the locker room.
The second half was much more exciting. The two sides come back better and threw themselves onto their opponents, fighting for the three points. The deadlock was finally broken at the 59th minute and it was no surprise that it was with Parma. Kulusevski found Darmian alone inside the box and the number 36 put the ball into the back of the net.
However, the Gialloblu’s advantage didn’t last long. Four minutes later, goalkeeper Luigi Sepe made a mistake and the ball was left to Ernesto Torregrossa. The number 11 delivered to Dessena, who didn’t miss the chance and leveled the match to the home team.
It took a while until another goal came, and it was with the in-form Kulusevski. After having assisted his teammate, it was his time to score a stunner and guarantee the three points to the visitors.
The 2-1 victory was important to Parma, who finished this matchday at the 11th place, with the same 46 points as both Bologna and Hellas Verona – 10th and 9th places. On the other hand, Brescia remained in 19th place, already relegated to the 2nd division.
