This Wednesday, Parma welcomed Napoli for matchday 34 of the Serie A TIM. At the Ennio Tardini Stadium, there were three penalties and three goals on the match, with the hosts leaving with the 3 points after a 2-1 victory. Gianluca Caprari and Dejan Kulusevski scored for the home team, while Lorenzo Inisgne diminished for the visitors.
The first half started with a lot of mistakes from both sides, especially while exchanging passes. It took time until the game became better technically, but after that, the opportunities started appearing. The two teams created chances and obligated the goalkeepers to make some good saves to avoid the goals.
However, before the half-time, Parma had the perfect chance to break the deadlock after Mario Rui brought Alberto Grassi down inside the box. A 45+3, Caprari stepped up and converted from the spot, giving his team a small advantage on the scoring.
Napoli came back to the second half putting more pressure onto the hosts, seeking a goal. It didn’t take that long until the had the chance to equalize things, as at the 54th minute, the referee saw a penalty after a handball from Ruiz. Insigne stepped up and put the ball into the back of the net.
Even though the visitors tried to score after that, it seemed that it was only allowed to score from a penalty. Because, at the 87th minute, the referee awarded the hosts with another penalty, after Kalidou Koulibaly brought Kulusevski down inside the box. The number 44 himself stepped up and converted from the spot, to guarantee the three points to his team.
With the 2-1 victory, Parma reached 43 points, in 12th place. They have the same points as both Bologna and Fiorentina, who are in 11th and 10th place. Meanwhile, Napoli stopped at 56 points, in 7th place.
