As it prepares for the resumption of the French Cup and the Champions League on 24 July and 12 August, Paris Saint-Germain are trying to get some business done in the summer transfer window. Accordingly, according to “The Independent”, the Parc des Princes team aims to sign Manchester United star striker Marcus Rashford.
It’s said that the Parisian boss Thomas Tuchel sees Manchester United’s number 10 as PSG’s top target for this summer, as the German understands that Rashford could build a superb attack boost, forming a deadly front-three alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, and also because he thinks Rashford doesn’t get all the recognition he deserves playing at the Old Trafford side.
Of course, this is not going to be an easy deal. First of all, Rashford was formed in the Red Devils Academy and made it all the way towards professional football there. He’s also very appreciated in the city and also in the country. It’s true that it’s pretty much for his off-pitch acts than his football skills.
I don’t see the youngster going to an unknown destiny at Paris, as he can stay and maybe help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to go back to their glory days.
There’s also the fact that going to France could make Rashford lose space in England’s National Team, as manager Gareth Southgate is clearly biased towards English players playing in the Premier League.
It’s undeniable though, that PSG are much closer to winning the UEFA Champions League than Man United, and this is the ultimate dream for a player in his club career.
But still, Rashford doesn’t seem to be the kind of player that only cares about money, whatever PSG are willing to offer him in wages. He may still remain a Man United player.
