This Saturday, Osasuna welcomed Celta Vigo for matchday 36 of La Liga. At the El Sadar Stadium, the hosts were able to get a 2-1 victory after a late comeback, already in the injury time of the second half. Santi Mina opened the scoring for the visitors, while Enric Gallego and Jose Arnaiz guaranteed the three points to the hosts.
The beginning of the first half was pretty exciting. Already at the 10th minute, the away team were able to break the deadlock with Mina. After receiving the ball from Iago Aspas, the number 22 hit into the right-corner to put Vigo ahead in the scoring.
The home team didn’t let the early goal suffered get to them and kept on making their game. So, 13 minutes later, they were able to find the equalizer. After Pervis Estupinan’s crossing, Gallego jumped to head the ball into the back of the net and make both teams go to the locker room with a 1-1 draw in the scoring.
In the second half, both sides were playing more offensively. The two sides were creating chances and shotting, however, the lack of aiming was a big problem not only to Osasuna but also to Celta Vigo.
Being honest, things were so equal between them that maybe the draw would be the fairest result. However, in the last minutes of the match, at 90+2, the hosts got their comeback. After a long ball into the box, Jose Arnaiz jumped higher than the defender and headed the ball into the back of the net, giving the three points to the home team.
With the 2-1 victory, Osasuna reached 48 points but remain in 11th place. Meanwhile, Celta Vigo stopped at 36 points, in 16th place, and are still fighting against relegation as they are just 4 points ahead from Mallorca.
