Despite rumors of his departure from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this season, the Brazilian striker Neymar has, once again, decided a match for the Parisians this Sunday. Playing away from home in the Ligue 1’s Matchday 6, the Brazilian withstood the pressure of both Lyon and PSG’s fans and secured a 1-0 win for PSG, leaving his mark at the end of the game. And what a goal it was. Could the Brazilian be back at it? It’s early to say, but he needs to prioritize football over other distractions.

The Brazilian, who could not play in the 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League debut midweek, created the main moves in a balanced clash on Sunday and was awarded a great goal on 87 minutes, leaving PSG on top of the Ligue 15 points, three more than Angers and Nice.

A key player throughout the match, Neymar ended up with five attempts on target and was stopped by two key saves from the good Portuguese goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

In the first half alone, there were 20 attempts from both clubs, but no one really found the back of the nets. Although Lyon showed willingness, PSG was more dangerous.

In the second half, the pace fell, but the visitors kept threatening, led by Neymar. After much insistence, the goal finally came out: the Brazilian received a pass from Argentine midfielder Angel Di Maria in the area, displayed some great piece of footwork to round Lyon defenders and slotted a powerful shot into the corner to surpass the Portuguese keeper. What a goal!

It was the redemption of the striker in the game. He was booed all over the game by both the local Lyon fans and also PSG traveling fans, who will maybe keep showing him some hostility until he makes up for all of his wrongdoings towards the Parisian team.
