After the defeat of Manchester United against Liverpool, the board of the Red Devils has decided to dismiss the Portuguese coach José Mourinho, with two and a half years in the position and after a bad start to the season being already ruled out as one of the contenders to the title in the first dates. The Manchester’s club is sixth in these moments in the league classification, 19 points behind Liverpool, with only 17 dates played, and to 11 points of the ‘Champions’ zone’ that closes Chelsea.
Mourinho, at 55, won a Community Shield, a Europa League, and a League Cup in his first season with the ‘Red Devils’, but in his second season, he went blank, being runner-up in the Premier League, 19 points behind the leader.
The problems of Mou, in addition to the results that did not come, was the war that started against some players of the staff such as Paul Pogba and others who lowered their level as Alexis Sanchez, the atmosphere in the locker room was not the best and that has cost the job to the Portuguese.
Manchester United has announced on Wednesday morning that the former ‘devils’ striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been named the interim coach until the end of the 2018-19 season. Solskjaer will take charge of the first team with immediate effect and will remain in the club while looking for a coach. Michael Carrick will continue working in the technical staff.
“We can talk about many good things and others not so good, but I’m not like that. It’s over. Manchester United has a future without me and I have a future without United” spoke to ‘Sky Sports’ José Mourinho and added “United is the past. I have always criticized the coaches who give details of what happened and look for the guilty. I’m not like that. Until I return to football I have the right to live my life as I am doing now. That is what I want”
