Manchester United were looking at the market for names to help them on the continuation of the current season and, especially, on the next one. One of their main wishes would be the main star of the Spurs, Harry Kane. However, this pandemic caused many problems in their bank.
With all the money that they may lose, the “Harry Kane operation” became impossible. The Englishman still has a contract with Tottenham until 2024 and his value is something about 150 million, which is really a lot.
According to the newspaper The Guardian, if the economic situation was normal, the Red Devils would try everything they could to bring the international striker.
And, even though the Premier League promised to come back in June, the deficit would still be big, once they said it will be behind closed doors.
However, they found a possible solution.
Their “Plan B” is Atletico Madrid’s, Joao Felix. The young Portuguese star didn’t make a lot of success in Spain and that could ease the negotiation. But there is still the problem that his contract with Atleti goes for seven years and it could make the Red Devils quit the idea.
If Joao Felix accepts joining Manchester United, he could be following the steps of the greatest Portuguese player of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo. We all remember how he went to England pretty young and still unknown and became one of the best number 7 the club already had in its history.
Of course that the negotiation will be difficult. His market value may decrease not only because of the crisis in the world but also because of the bad season he has had so far. But it doesn’t mean that the Red Devils will be able to have the money necessary for him and if Atletico will really sell him after all the money they spent.
If Manchester United were able to close the deal, I’m pretty sure Joao Felix will help the team a lot. And, alongside Bruno Fernandes, he may even take the Reds of Manchester back to where they want to be.
