Prior to the arrival of Portuguese Bruno Fernandes into the Manchester United squad, we could say they were a below-average Premier League side. However, the Portuguese midfielder was a huge signing in a key moment in the season, as Red Devil fans are dreaming of top-flight European football for next season once again.
They’re in a 16 unbeaten games run, with the last defeat being in January. In order to bring back the old good days for the Red Devils, the club’s board is setting some key targets for next season.
One of them is the Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer. The AC Milan player is in a good form playing with the Rossoneri shirt and has attracted eyes from all over Europe, with the Red Devils apparently leading the signing race.
Reports claim the Manchester side would be willing to offer up to 50 million pounds for the Algeria international, figures that I personally think are a little bit exaggerated, even more under the actual covid scenario, as we don’t know what the future will bring us.
Anyway, it’s likely that Milan will take this offer, and chances are high that Bennacer will join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer squad next season.
Despite Man United, other clubs are still looking for the 22-year-old Algerian such as Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City.
Bennacer would be a huge add-on into the current Man United squad. He would form a good pair with Bruno Fernandes, as both can run the Red Devils from the mid, mainly through their amazing long-ball skills. In case Frenchman Paul Pogba remains at Man United for the next season, the scenario would look even better for Ole’s man.
I personally would get rid of Jesse Lingard, and maybe even Martial and would go to the market to see if there are better names available. But that would depend if United will get UCL Football next season.
