This Wednesday, Bournemouth welcomed Newcastle for matchday 32 of the Premier League. At Dean Court Stadium, the visitors got a good 4-1 victory and guaranteed the 3 points. Dwight Gayle, Sean Longstaff, Miguel Almiron, and Valentino Lazaro scored for the Magpies. Dan Gosling scored the consolation for the Cherries.
The away side already started the first half trying to control the game, keeping the ball and creating plays. It was no surprise when they broke the deadlock already at the 5th minute, with Gayle. After receiving the ball from Allan Saint-Maximin, the striker sent a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner.
After the early shock, the hosts tried to scare their opponents and brought some danger with Philip Billing’s shot, which went wide. But who scored, again, was Newcastle. Almost at the end of the first half, at the 30th minute, Longstaff hit the ball into the back of the net after a beautiful play from Maximin. With that, the visitors went to the locker room two goals ahead.
The Magpies scored the third already at the beginning of the second half. At the 57th minute, Maximin gave his second assist, to Almiron hit into the top left corner. 20 minutes later, Lazaro appeared to hit into the right corner and make it four, with no chances for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Already at injury time, at 90+4, the Cherries were finally able to find their consolation. After Natan Ake’s assist, Gosling put the ball into the back of the net. With that, the match ended with a 4-1 win to the visitors.
With the victory, Newcastle went up to 13th place, with 42 points. Meanwhile, Bournemouth dropped to 19th place, with only 27 points. That’s only 3 points behind West Ham, the first team out of the relegation zone.
