Lucas Tolentino Coelho de Lima, better known as Lucas Paqueta, is the new Brazilian to make his move to Europe and play on one of the biggest teams on the old continent.
Lucas Paquetá, just like Vinicius Jr. (Now playing for Real Madrid) and Richarlison (playing for Everton), is one of the new jewels of Brazil and part of the future of Brazilian National Team. And, just like the others, he is already preparing to move to Europe.
For £35 million, Brazilian youth will leave Flamengo – an important team in Rio de Janeiro – and be a part of the squad of Milan. Paqueta will arrive probably just is January 2019, as the Brazilian 2018 season will end only in December.
PSG were also running after the Brazilian midfielder, but probably the presence of the Leonardo – sports managers of Milan and a former Flamengo player – made things easier for the “Rossoneri”, once, at his arrival at the Italian club, he said he wanted to count with Lucas Paqueta. Honestly, going to Milan will be way better to him than going to PSG. The French team has a squad full of important players, and he would be fighting for space. The Italian team, on the other hand, still needs reinforcements and certainly Paqueta could help with that, he is fast, has a good shot and can take major roles both on the attack and on the defense.
Since his debut for Flamengo, back in 2016, Paqueta played a total of 87 matches, but certainly, his best season is the current one, in which he played 48 matches, scored 11 goals and gave 5 assists. The goals could be better, but his current team, Flamengo, has serious problems with scoring.
Paqueta’s official announcement will happen soon after he passes all of his medical exams. And in January, his new story begins. Is he going to help Milan to get a trophy?! Maybe yes. Talent for that, he certainly has.
