Arsenal and Napoli faced each other once more. This time, for the second leg match for the Europa League. At the first match, in London, Arsenal got a 2-0 victory. And the second game also finished in a victory of the Englishmen, even though they were playing in Italy.
The Gunners certainly didn’t play in a great way, like on the first match. But the outside goal finally came at the 36 minutes, making things way more difficult to Napoli. Lacazette suffered a fault near the area and he himself shot it, on the left side of the goal defended by Meret. The goalkeeper stood still, looking at the ball. After that, the Italian side would have to score at least 4 goals to get to the next round. But they ended up scoring null.
Napoli players were certainly not in a good night. The team was able to have 20 shots during the match, however, just 3 went to Chech’s goal. Arsenal, on the other side, gave just 7 shots during the match, and 4 on the goal. Callejón, Milik and Fabián Ruiz, for example, had a night to forget. They were really playing bad and weren’t able to help their team. On the other side, for Napoli, they will probably have the chance to play the UCL next year, through the Italian Championship. Now, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will have the rest of the season to correct the mistakes and come stronger next year.
For Arsenal, this is a good moment to search for the first big international title of their history. Last season, they lost to the champions of that Europa League, Atlético Madrid. Now, their next rival will once again be a Spanish team. The Gunners face Valencia, with the first match at the Emirates Stadium, on the 2nd of May.
