This Tuesday, Spanish Executive Head Pedro Sanchez, drew up a plan to relax athletes’ confinement who, like the entire Spanish population, were affected by the social isolation measures to combat the Covid-19.
This Plan will be implemented in four phases described by the authorities, promoting a gradual return of activities in Spain. This measure will meet the constant questions about how and when sports activities would return.
The plan begins with Phase 0, which started this week, where a primary test will be applied, two days before the reopening of virus prevention training. In addition, this phase has the approval of the Council of Ministers. In the next stage, Phase 1, expected to occur from May 4, individual training will return.
Instructions will be given only by videoconference and players will be able to go to the Training Centers to carry out their tasks. However, inevitably, these training sessions will have essential restrictions: Athletes must always have preventive equipment (gloves and masks) and only six players will be allowed on the field and twelve in the other facilities at the same time.
Then, in Phase 2, the training sessions will increase to eight players simultaneously and up to 20 on the premises, with this period scheduled to start on the 11th of May. Finally, in the last phase, or Phase 3, if everything goes with excellence, starting on the 26th, the training will take place in a normal and complete way.
Remembering that this phase will also be subjected to tests to detect the virus.
Finally, this gradual return plan was already approved on April 29 by the Council of Ministers. So, the next discussions will be around the National Championships. There is even an expectation that the League will be able to return in June.
