It’s not only in Europe that the managers are already looking at the transfer market. LA Galaxy’s manager Guillermo Barros Schelotto is already thinking of what to do for the continuation of the Major League Soccer’s season.
In an interview for the Italian newspaper “Tuttosport”, LA Galaxy’s manager spoke about his wish to bring in Argentine Gonzalo Higuain to the United States. He also said that it may be a difficult mission, once the striker said that he would like to stay at Juventus.
However, as he also added in the end, nothing is impossible in football.
Higuain is already 32 years old and has had a long career. After arriving at Juventus, his current club, back in 2016, he went on loan twice and on both times he didn’t have good performances. Playing for AC Milan in 2018/19, he played 15 matches and scored 6 goals.
In 2019, he went to England and played for Chelsea in 14 matches, scoring 5 goals.
In the 2019/20 season, for the Old Lady, Higuain has played a total of 34 matches and scored only 8 goals. That may be a reason for the club to think about another loan or maybe even selling him for a club that is willing to pay the value they want.
And LA Galaxy is known for having big names on their squad since MLS started attracting experienced players mainly from Europe.
Their first big name was David Beckham and the most recent one was Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now, they brought the Mexican Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez to substitute the Swede striker who went back to Europe to play for AC Milan.
So, Schelotto’s dream of having Higuain is not impossible. And maybe for the Argentine, it would be a good opportunity to find once again that good football he showed back in his Real Madrid times.
