This Sunday, finishing matchday 36 of the Serie A TIM, Juventus welcomed Sampdoria. At the Allianz Stadium, the Old Lady confirmed their title, for the 9th season in a row, after a 2-0 victory over their opponents. Cristiano Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi scored the goals of the game.
Since the beginning of the first half, Maurizio Sarri’s men had the ball in the attacking field but were having difficulty to create good opportunities. Their first chance was only at the 43rd minute, with Bernardeschi, but he stopped on a good one-hand save from the young goalkeeper Emil Audero.
With 7 minutes of injury time, Juve were able to break the deadlock on the last minute of the first half. In a personalized training setpiece, Miralem Pjanic found Ronaldo onto the left and the Portuguese star slammed into the back of the net to open the scoring before the half-time.
Winning by a one-goal lead, the hosts kept controlling the match and having more the ball. They continue threatening Audero’s goal, obligating the 23-year-old keeper to make some saves to avoid another goal. However, at the 67th minute, he couldn’t avoid Bernardeschi’s goal. After the goalkeeper’s rebound, the number 33 was faster than the defender and pushed the ball into the back of the net.
The Old Lady still had a good chance to score the third, when Alex Sandro was brought down inside the box and the referee awarded them a penalty. CR7 was the one to step up, but he slammed the crossbar. It didn’t matter in the end, as the match ended with a 2-0 victory to them.
The positive result and the three points guaranteed Juventus’ Serie A title, as they achieved 83 points, with two matchdays still to be played. It is their 9th title in a row and they now have a total of 36 trophies of the League, twice more than their rivals AC Milan and Internazionale.
Congrats to Juve, Serie A Champions once again! Congratulazioni, Juve!
