The current main target at Tottenham Hotspur is Real Madrid’s Spaniard Lucas Vasquez. According to “Mundo Deportivo”, the Spurs would be interested in the 28-year-old player and are studying to make a 15 million pounds bid.
The name of Vasquez is a personal request from the Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who wants to count on another fast-paced player in the attack.
Also according to the Spanish newspaper, the Merengues have already stated that they expect to receive at least 23 million pounds for the player. However, with the Spaniard currently struggling under Zinedine Zidane, it’s likely that the Spurs will count on the Real Madrid player in a cut-price deal.
It is not the first time that Lucas Vazquez’s name has been circulating among Premier League clubs. Chelsea and Arsenal previously studied the signing of the athlete. In addition, the player has already said that the English Premier League style of play would suit his personality and characteristics. Along with that, he revealed that the language would not be a problem for him since he speaks a little bit English and has been currently watching films and TV shows in English.
I personally think that if Tottenham really wants Vazquez, he should find a way out Real Madrid ASAP. I mean, I see the Spurs as a very good possibility for Vazquez, who is an average player. In my opinion, Vazquez is in the same level as Premier League clubs like Crystal Palace, Bournemouth, Aston Villa, and Norwich. I think he would struggle at Everton, imagine at the Spurs.
My point is, he’s still a player that has a lot to prove, even despite winning a lot of trophies with Real Madrid. He won a lot, but he wasn’t a key-player in none of the Merengues’ achievements, and, if I’m not mistaken, he was a mere sub, so, yes, he has a lot to prove, and the Premier League is not like the La Liga. Competition is fierce there.
