After plenty of impressive performances, Borussia Dortmund finally rewarded young sensation Jadon Sancho with a new contract.
In fact, English youth kicked off the season with impressive numbers. He played 125 minutes – that would be less than one game and a half – and assisted his fellows 5 times, not to mention that he scored once as well. And here is another curiosity: We need to kind of fragment his minutes because he hasn’t even started one game for Dortmund so far in this 2018-19 season. What the!??
The club’s Sporting director, Michael Zorc described the English promise as “brutally good” and even compared him to former Borussia Dortmund player, Ousmane Dembele.
His ascension is so impressive, that some Premier League clubs have already shown interest in signing Sancho. Initially, his contract would go until 2020. With the new deal, it will go until 2022.
Surprising everyone, Dortmund are the current leaders on the German League, and the team’s good form may have a part on Sancho’s performances. Playing with Marco Reus, Mario Gotze and Paco Alcacer also help a lot.
Sancho is 18 years old and came from Manchester City. He assured he’s very happy with his choice.
“I am very glad that I decided to change to Dortmund just over a year ago because everything turned out to be true: this city lives football like no other, and at BVB young players are given opportunities,” said the young star.
“Here I can develop really well. I am completely happy and satisfied and proud to be part of this team. Here is something great!”
Will Sancho become a World Class player? Only the time will tell. However, he will still keep making Dortmund supporters happy until 2022 at least.
