Last Sunday, the Irish newspaper “Sunday World” stated that Philippe Coutinho tried himself to arrange his return to Liverpool. The Brazil international contacted the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp on the phone to show his willingness to return to playing at Anfield.
Coutinho left Liverpool on the eve of a new season, back in 2018 to move to Barcelona to supposedly fulfill his dream, which ended up being a complete disaster, as some Barcelona fans consider the Brazilian midfielder as one of the biggest Barcelona deceptions of all time.
After his flop season in Catalunya, Barcelona wanted to get rid of the Brazilian, for obvious reasons, and ended up agreeing on a loan-deal with Germans Bayern Munich, and, once again, Coutinho went on to Bavaria with lots of expectations on his shoulder, but flopped again.
The Brazil international is not on Bayern’s plans for next season, thus won’t buy the player out of Barcelona. Since then, Coutinho was speculated in a lot of clubs across Europe, and mainly Premier League clubs, as he thinks that his Football style is made for playing the English League.
Newcastle, Chelsea, and even Manchester United appeared on Coutinho’s radar, but apparently, his dream is to go back to Anfield, where he shone and commanded the Reds technically, especially after the Steven Gerrard departure for retirement.
At first, of course, the rumors weren’t really welcomed by Liverpool fans, who got hurt by the way the Brazilian handed the situation and pushed for a Barcelona move. At the moment, he even faked a back injury, in which he alleged that he couldn’t play for the Reds, but could play for the Brazilian international team a few days after.
But as some pictures were coming out, some fans got their memories refreshed to the fact that Coutinho was actually class wearing the Liverpool kit.
Some even said that the Brazilian player already got what he deserved, as he already flopped and only the Reds could bring the player back to his glory days.
Will Klopp accept him? Well, that’s a whole new story, and I honestly don’t really see it happening, unless Barcelona agrees on paying a part of the player’s wages, which won’t happen.
