According to some sources, depending on the situations to come in the near future, PSG’s Kylian Mbappe could be going to Liverpool.
In December last year, German manager Jurgen Klopp insisted that there was absolutely no chance that Liverpool club could afford Mbappe. However, that was before Liverpool joined Nike as their new kit sponsors.
They are expected to get £100 million a year from the American sports giants. If they can find a way to finance Mbappe’s £400k a week wages, the Reds can afford to sign him. In addition, Nike could be persuaded to finance part of the Frenchman’s wages to help out the Anfield club.
However, another thing would have to happen in order for the Reds to land Mbappe. And that would be selling Sadio Mane to Real Madrid.
The Senegalese striker is reportedly a Zinedine Zidane target, and it’s also said that Real Madrid would be up to carry out a mega financial operation to sign the Liverpool player after the end of the European season.
Sadio is loved by Liverpool fans, and he has said that he sees himself at his peak at Liverpool, and couldn’t see himself in another club. However, we all know how things seem to change fast when it comes to both Spanish giants, Barcelona, and Real Madrid. Their persuasion power is too high.
It would be a pity to let Sadio go like that, but at the same time, it would be great to have Kylian Mbappe, who is a younger player and has a brilliant future ahead.
Mane’s contract with Liverpool goes until 2023, and the Senegalese striker is on £150k a week.
However, it is vital to remember that the imminent financial recession could change everything, and it’s growing the idea of a potential salary reduction for football players on a worldwide scale, and that could make things stay just the way they are.
