Among an absolutely chaotic atmosphere in Italy due to the problems the country is passing through, two football clubs set to return to training activities. These are both Napoli and Lazio. Is the country ready for resuming football activities?

Italy is the most affected country by the Covid-19, with more than 60 thousand infected people, and more than 5 thousand deaths confirmed. Despite the disease did not start in the Pizza country, it has already surpassed China in numbers of deceases and has everything to surpass the Asians also in terms of infected.

Amid the social, humanitarian, and financial crisis the country is facing, two Football clubs want to resume Football activities. It’s right that both Lazio and Napoli are in Southern Italy, where the problem was not that brutal as in the North of the country.

However, there’s no atmosphere to resume activities right now… Basically, the whole world is stopping, and maybe it would be better to wait one or two months to go back to the normal daily routine.

Of course, all of us miss Football, and want to see high-level games once again, but like… It’s not the time yet.

Obviously, that was a questionable decision, that made mainly clubs from the North such as Inter Milan, Juventus, AC Milan, and Atalanta question the decision coming from the South of the country.

And apparently, both Napoli and Lazio just announced they will backtrack and will postpone their decision, with no date confirmed yet to resume training activities.

For those who don’t know how things work in Italy, the country is divided into two parts: Northern and Southern Italy.

Both regions have rivalries that range from cultural differences to economic differences. Southern people claim they are the “traditional” Italians, with the whole stereotype thing, as Northern people are proud of being the most productive part of the country, generating more jobs, etc.

Despite the Northern region accounts for more than 80% of the infected people in Italian soil, the whole country is not only in quarantine, but in lockdown, which means no one can leave their homes unless it’s necessary, such as to go to the supermarket, hospital, drugstores, and also for the people who work in these sectors.

The situation requires a union from both parts. There’s no way whatsoever to simply resume the season without clubs like Atalanta, who comes from Bergamo, which is the most affected city in the whole of Europe.

It’s almost certain that when the season resumes, the games will take place behind closed doors, as the situation will last for some months. But we cannot stay at home forever, and maybe by May, the seasons in Europe will go back to its normal.
