In recent years, some great players have returned to South America after playing in Europe or even chose to leave Europe to test their luck in South America. The list has many names, like Daniel Alves, Filipe Luis and Carlos Tevez returning to their countries, and like Juanfran and Daniele De Rossi who decided to cross the ocean and play in a different environment.
Edinson Cavani, who is currently playing for Paris Saint-Germain, might be another player to do it.
Boca Juniors is monitoring the Uruguayan’s situation and may try to convince him to be the next biggest signing of the team. The striker’s contract with PSG lasts until June 30 and, obviously, there will probably be many European clubs interested in signing with him. Even with that, it is not impossible for the Xeneizes to get him in the end.
According to the Uruguayan newspaper “Ovacion”, Boca fans have reason to be excited. In an interview for ESPN some time ago, “El Matador” was asked which Argentine club he preferred between River Plate and Boca Juniors. His answer was Boca, once, according to him, the club attracts him and he would love to score a goal and climb the Bombenra fence as Manteca Matinez, who played for the club in the 90s, did.
The Xeneizes have recently signed with Tevez and De Rossi. With this, thinking about hiring PSG’s top scorer is not impossible. Cavani is already 33 years old and he might want to come back to South America.
Boca’s desire is to reinforce the attack and they have other names if Cavani becomes impracticable, once we all know how PSG is with money. Some of the options are Guido Carrillo, from Leganes, and Jonathan Calleri, who is currently playing for Espanyol.
The club also has other priorities besides hiring a striker. Tevez’s contract extension is one of them, in addition to the contract extension of the striker Mauro Zarate.
