The whole Mauro Icardi drama seemed to have come to an end. After almost two months without playing, the striker started in Inter’s 4-0 win against Genoa on Wednesday in Genoa. The Argentine was decisive – as always – in the match. He scored the second goal of the game and assisted Perisic in the third. However, the fans did not celebrate the goal of the striker. The triumph leaves the team of Luciano Spalletti with 56 points, still in third. Genoa is 13th with 33.
Away from home, Inter Milan did not take notice of Genoa. At 15 minutes, the Nerazzurri opened the scoring with Gagliardini. Icardi scored the second in a penalty and assisted Perisic’s third goal. This was the 123rd goal of the striker for the club, a fact that puts him next to Vieri as the eighth highest scorer of the Nerazzurri. In the 35th minute of the second half, Gagliardini scored another one and gave final numbers to the match.
But not everything is perfect. In the goal of Icardi, the fans refused to celebrate. The few who sketched a reaction soon restrained themselves. The fans’ anger is due to the player’s recent attitude. He reportedly had issues with Inter staff, the manager, and some players. He apparently also “faked” an injury. I think he’s a good guy in general, but his wife seems to control his life so tightly. It’s actually mad. Just a quick reminder about his wife. Wanda Nara was married and had children with Icardi’s friend, Maxi López. Apparently, they betrayed López behind his back. And since that, they started another family, and Nara became his agent. He didn’t renew his contract with the nerazzuri and lost the captaincy due to indiscipline. He’s been also heavily linked with Real Madrid.
Icardi had not played for Inter Milan since February 13, when he was informed by the coaching staff that he would no longer be the captain of the team before his Europa League trip to Rapid Vienna. The player was reinstated two weeks ago but only return to the starting lineup on Wednesday night.
I hope they can sort this situation out as soon as possible. Icardi is one of the greatest strikers out there. He’s the definition of a striker. The one who always scores, no matter what. Put yourself together and play Football, Mauro! You’ve got everything to conquer the world!
