David Beckham’s Inter Miami continues their quest to find big names. The speculation now is Javier Pastore, who belongs to Roma, from Italy. According to the Italian newspaper “FootMercato”, the MLS team will contact the player’s manager, Marcelo Simonian, to make an offer to the Argentine.
However, the player recently stated that he would like to play for Argentina’s Talleres.
Pastore had not had many opportunities to play for Roma since last season. It becomes clear when we notice that in this current season, 2019-20, he only participated in 9 matches in the Serie A and gave just one miserable assist.
In the previous year, things were not that different as well. He did not even participate in half of the games on the national championship.
Despite this, Pastore has a successful career, once he played for the great Paris Saint-Germain. In the French club, he was five times champion of the Ligue 1 and also the French Super Cup, as well as four times champion of the French Cup. And he was an important part of the squad during his first years.
For him, going to the MLS could be perfect. In Europe, I don’t see any big club really being interested in him. And Inter Miami really wants a big player, which means he will probably be a regular part of the squad.
Javier Pastore was not the first to be speculated in Miami, nor will he be the last. David Beckham’s team is hungry for a European-level athlete, so much so that the club’s biggest signing to date has been from Rodolfo Pizarro, ex-Monterrey.
Some of the names of interest to Inter were: Ozil, Diego Costa, Vidal, Alexis Sánchez, Suarez, and even Lionel Messi, the great dream of the English owner of the club. Miami, until the MLS shutdown, had yet to win a match. Who knows after having a European, the team changes levels and starts fighting for titles.
