This Saturday, Hoffenheim welcomed Union Berlin for matchday 33 of the Bundesliga. At the PreZero Arena, the hosts made a good game and thrashed the visitors by 4-0. Ihlas Bebou, Andrej Kramaric, Moanes Dabour, and Christoph Baumgartner scored the goals of the match.
The first half started with the club from the capital having the ball. They also had the first good chance with Christopher Trimmel, who missed the opportunity. After that, however, things changed. The home side started taking control of the game and didn’t take long to break the deadlock.
At the 1tth minute, after Robert Skov, Bebou took advantage of the rebound given by goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas and put the ball into the back of the net, opening the scoring.
The pressure increased after that, with both teams fighting for each ball. Playing better and winning the plays, Hoffenheim doubled the scoring still in the first half. At the 39th minute, the ball was left to Kramaric after deflecting on the wall-man and the number 27 put the ball into the back of the net.
It seemed that the hosts would go to the locker room with two goals of advantage but during injury time, Dabbur scored the third. At 45+3, the number 10 sent the ball between goalkeeper Nicolas’ legs and made the 3-0.
Once again, Union were the better side during the first minutes of the second half. But they opened spaces for the counter-attack and Hoffenheim took advantage of that. At the 68th minute, Benjamin Hubner found Baumgartner, who came into the match during halftime, and the number 14 put the ball into the back of the net.
The capital team’s best chance was with Sebastian Andersson, who hit the crossbar. However, they were not able to score and the match ended 4-0 to the hosts.
With the victory, Hoffenheim reached the same 49 points as Wolfsburg, but are still in 7th place. Union Berlin, on the other hand, continues with the same 38 points, in the 12th position.
