Dortmund doubled their lead at the 28th minute. Mats Hummels gave a marvelous assist to captain Reus, who ran more than Cologne’s defenders and was able to send the ball past goalkeeper Timo Horn. The goal was almost ruled out, but thanks to VAR, the goal stayed.
The second half started just like the first, even though the visitors started creating more chances before half time. As soon as the 47th minute arrived, the home side scored their third goal, this time through Sancho. The number 7 received a great assist from Reus and put his right-footed shot on the top right corner, giving no chances for the goalkeeper.

Mark Uth was unmarked down the left and, even from a narrow-angle, was able to put the ball into the bottom right corner. And with 3-1 on the scoring, Favre finally brought in the one that the fans were calling for.
After an amazing first game with the black and yellow shirts, Haaland came in the place of Hazard and scored two goals. The first one at the 76th minute, from a close-range shot. The second, ten minutes later. After receiving an assist from Dahou, the Norwegian was able to score a beautiful goal from a very difficult angle. 5-1 Dortmund.
With the victory, Lucien Favre’s team moves up to the third position on the table, with 36 points, but can be overtaken in the matchday depending on the result from the game between Monchengladbach and Mainz. Cologne, on the other hand, is in the 13th position, with 20 points, which is only 3 away from Werder Bremen, the team that is currently on the relegation playoffs.
