Getafe welcomed Eibar this Saturday, for matchday 30 of La Liga. At Coliseum Alfonso Perez, both clubs shared points after a 1-1 draw. Oghenekaro Etebo scored for the hosts, while Charles scored for the visitors.
Even playing away from home, Eibar started the first half attempting to attack. However, they weren’t able to create real chances and that gave chance to Getafe pick up the pace. The hosts then had the first good chance of the match, at 15th minute, when Etebo headed the ball wide.
After that, the Azulones started controlling the match and having more opportunities. At the 30th minute, they finally broke the deadlock. After Angel Rodriguez’s pass, Etebo shot into the back of the net, beating goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic.
Eibar didn’t feel the goal and started searching the equalizer. With 7 minutes of injury time, they were able to equalize the scoring still in the first half. At 45+6, Charles headed into the bottom left corner to put his team back in the game before the half-time.
The second half started also with the visitors attacking more and creating some small opportunities. Honestly, they didn’t even make goalkeeper David Soria work that much. Already near the last minutes of the match, the hosts started creating better opportunities and probably would have left the pitch with the three points if it wasn’t for Dmitrovic’s saves.
In the last breath, Eibar were able to put the ball into the back of the net with Pedro Bigas. However, the goal was ruled out after VAR checking and the scoring kept 1-1.
With the draw, Getafe added another point, reaching 48 points but remaining in 5th place, still qualifying for Europa League. Eibar reached 29 points but still is in a difficult position, at 17th place. They are still fighting against relegation.
