In a game of matchday 24 of the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt surprised Werder Bremen and beat the home side by 3-0. With one goal of Andre Silva and two of Stefan Ilsanker, the visitors guaranteed the three points.
The beginning of the first half was really bad. In 10 minutes, there were already nine fouls and basically no chances of goal. The first good opportunity was for Frankfurt, when Andre Silva tried a low shot, forcing goalkeeper Pavlenka to make a good save.
Minutes later, it was Trapp’s turn to avoid the goal, when Klaasen hit from outside the box. After that, the hosts had more the ball and were able to attack more, stopping on the opponents’ defense.
At the 35th minute, there were a lot of complaints of Werder Bremen players because of a handball of Abraham inside the box. The VAR came into action to analyze the play. After more than two minutes, and the referee analyzing as well, they saw an outside position at the beginning of the play.
The second half started without the intensity of the first 45 minutes, but on the other hand, we had goals. The first one was scored at the 58th minute, when Kohr took advantage of a rebound, however it was disallowed because of a handball at the beginning of the play.
3 minutes later, the visitors were finally able to break the deadlock. After Kostic’s cross, Andre Silva sent a header past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
After that, Frankfurt were still able to score two more times, both with Ilsanker. First, at the 81st minute, the Dane just had to push the ball into the net after a corner kick. Then, at the 90th minute, the number 3 used his head after De Guzman’s free-kick to seal the victory.
Now, both teams have 29 matches as the others in the Bundesliga. With the victory and the three points, Frankfurt reached 35 points and is in the 11th position. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, remain with 25 points and at the 17th place, fighting against relegation.
