The transfer market continues to call attention as the teams keep searching for new players for next season. Even though the negotiations are basically not happening yet, many names are being speculated in different clubs. The new name in the media is River Plate’s Jorge Carrascal.
According to the newspaper “Gazzetta Dello Sport”, clubs like Juventus and Fiorentina, from Italy, Ajax, from the Netherlands, and Besiktas, from Turkey, are interested in the 21-year-old Colombian.
The midfielder’s name was first linked to Juve by the newspaper. In recent days, Jorge Carrascal was highly praised by Italian striker Antonio Cassano, who said that the young Colombian can make history in the sport. Apart from that, the striker also said that the midfielder reminded him of Kaka, who had one of his best moments playing in Italy, for AC Milan.
Also, in addition to the Bianconeri club, Fiorentina, Ajax, and Besiktas had already been linked to the midfielder as well. However, River Plate said there is no official proposal for the 21-year-old from neither one of them.
Carrascal arrived in River Plate in 2019, coming from Karpaty, from Ukraine. Since then, he has only played 17 games for the Millonarios and scored three goals. In addition, he played eight times for Colombia’s under-23 national team, and also reached the back of the net three times. His value on the market is about 20 million euros. The Argentine club paid about three million euros to the Ukrainians, for 90% of the economic rights of the athlete.
He is a really interesting player and young. I believe that if Juventus really want the athlete, it will be very difficult for the other three to get any chances of negotiating with him. But it the Old Lady quit the idea, maybe the others will enter on the fight.
