This Thursday, Ludogorets welcomed Internazionale Milan for the round of 32 of the Europa League. Even though the match was at the Ludogorets Arena, in Bulgaria, it was the visitors who got a 2-0 victory. The goals of the game were scored by Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku.
At the start of the match, Inter even tried to set their pace, however, both teams were studying each other in the first 20 minutes and nothing really happened. After that, the Italians arrived with more danger, but the Bulgarian defense was well placed. With that, the first half ended with no goals.
The team talk in the locker room was probably good because right at the beginning of the second half, the Nerazzurri side did much more than before. However, even with all the pressure, the goal still didn’t come. With that, manager Conte made his first change, introducing Romelu Lukaku on the place of Lautaro Martinez. Right after that, Inter broke the deadlock with Eriksen.
From then on, the match was controlled by the visitors. Winning away from home in any European competition is very good, however, Inter got the chance to make it even better when they were awarded a penalty in the injury time. At 90+5, Lukaku stepped up and converted from the spot, giving the Italian team a 2-0 advantage for the second leg match, in Milan.
Their next match will happen next Thursday and, to get the victory, the Bulgarian side will need a 3-0 win. Before that, both teams play their national league matches. Inter will welcome Sampdoria, for Serie A, and continue to fight for the title. They really search for a victory after losing the second place for Lazio. Ludogorets, the first place in the Bulgarian league, will face Eta, away from home, trying to get the three points and maybe increase the difference to the second place.
