Wolverhampton hosted Chelsea this Saturday at the Molineux Stadium in Premier League’s Matchday 5. Blues’ youngster Tammy Abraham solved the deal once again for them, as he scored another hat trick in the competition. Chelsea’s defender Fukayo Tomori and Mason Mount scored as well, as the Blues beat Wolves 5-2. With the hat trick, Abraham is now Premier League’s top scorer, with seven goals in five games. Nothing bad for the youngster player.
The match started off in a very lazy mood, but there were few chances that endangered the goalkeepers. At 31′, Wolves’ defense could clear a corner, but the ball fell to Tomori, who struck a powerful effort from outside the area, straight into Rui Patricio’s top corner. 0-1 Chelsea.
Two minutes later, Abraham’s show began. The number nine capitalized on a loose ball in the Wolves defense and fired past Patricio to make it two. On 41 minutes, Marcos Alonso crossed as Abraham made his second into the game. Chelsea 3-0 in the first half.
After the break, the Blues kept going at Wolves and reached the fourth. Guess who scored? Yes, Abraham, once again. The striker received on the edge of the box rounded Conor Coady and slotted into the corner. 4-0 Chelsea.
Wolves tried a reaction, as on 67 mins, Cutrone fired but the ball went out for a corner. Turned out that after the corner, Kepa fumbled the ball, as it hit Abraham before getting in. Abraham scored once again, but this time, an own goal.
On 85 minutes, Matt Doherty’s powerful shot tricked Kepa, who once again couldn’t save it as the ball fell to Cutrone, who reduced the gap. However, on 90+6, Mason Mount made it 5-2 for Chelsea.
A good win for the Blues ahead of their UEFA Champions League debut. Their defense is pretty unstable, and their attack is very dependable on Abraham so far. But as long as they can keep winning, who cares?
