After seeing the victory slip through the hands of the UEFA Champions League last week, Juventus switched up their attention to the Italian Serie A this Saturday and added more three points in the competition. Playing at the Juventus Stadium in Turin, The Old Lady kicked off the match against Hellas Verona in a bad mood, as they conceded a goal. However, led by Cristiano Ronaldo and Aaron Ramsey, the hosts could turn things around to 2-1. The also Portuguese, Miguel Veloso, scored Verona’s goal.

In the first half, Juve seemed to be still suffering from the late goal conceded against Atletico Madrid and did not have a good start against Hellas, who took advantage. Di Carmine was brought down inside the box, as the referee correctly awarded Verona a penalty. Di Carmine himself took it, hit the post, but clever Veloso smashed the rebounded ball home past Gianluigi Buffon. 0-1 Hellas with 21 on the clock.

However, Hellas Verona’s lead in the match did not last long. 31 minutes into the match, Cristiano Ronaldo received it at the edge of the area and rolled to Aaron Ramsey. The midfielder attempted from long-range but was lucky that the ball deflected off a Hellas defender and tricked the goalkeeper, who nothing could do. 1-1.

In the second half, Juventus came back up to grab the three points and managed to turn the game around in four minutes. Koray Gunter fouled Juan Cuadrado inside the box and the referee awarded the penalty. Cristiano Ronaldo showed all of his calm to strike down the middle, to give the Old Lady the three points. 2-1 Juventus.

However, Hellas Verona showed some braveness and threw themselves at Juve at the Juventus Stadium. They could even threaten the hosts, who counted on Buffon to save them, as the Italian keeper pulled out some vital late saves to guarantee the three points. In the end, Kumbulla received the second yellow and was sent off, braking any chance of a late goal in the added time.
