This Saturday, Genoa welcomed Inter Milan for matchday 36 of the Serie A TIM. At the Luigi Ferraris, the visitors showed all their power with a very good performance of Romelu Lukaku and left with the three points after a 3-0 win. The Belgian striker scored twice and Alexis Sanchez completed the scoresheet.
Internazionale were the better side during basically all the match, so it was no surprise when they started the first half already imposing their pace and threatening their opponents’ goalkeeper. They kept trying and trying until they were finally able to break the deadlock at the 34th minute. Cristiano Biraghi’s center went perfectly to Lukaku’s head and the striker didn’t miss the opportunity, heading into the back of the net.
The hosts had a chance to level the match a few minutes later, on a free-kick, but Filip Jagiello sent the ball wide. With that, they went to the locker room with a small disadvantage.
The second half wasn’t that different. Being ahead on the scoring and technically better, the Nerazzurri kept on attacking and creating chances. However, it took time until they were finally able to double their lead. It only happened at the 83rd minute, when Victor Moses found Sanchez in the middle of the box. The Chilean shot from close to score the 2-0.
Before the end of the match, Inter still found another goal. At 90+3, Lukaku appeared again. After a faster counter-attack, the number 9 received almost in the midfield, went forward, entered the box, and hit into the left corner to complete the scoring.
With the 3-0 victory, Inter Milan went to the second position, being now with 76 points, just 4 points behind the leader, Juventus. Meanwhile, Genoa kept fighting on the other side of the table, stopping at 36 points in 17th place. They are 4 points ahead of Lecce, the first team in the relegation zone.
