For matchday 29 of Liga NOS, Pacos Ferreira welcomed Porto FC this Monday. At Estadio Capital do Movel, the Dragons asserted their favoritism with a simple victory by 1-0 over their opponents. The only goal of the match was scored by Chancel Mbemba Mangulu.
The first half started already with a lot of action. In the visitors’ first attack, at the 7th minute, they already broke the deadlock. Mbemba took advantage of goalkeeper Ricardo Ribeiro’s rebound after a corner and put the ball into the back of the net.
With the early goal, we all thought that Porto would totally control the match and maybe even trash the hosts. However, that was not what happened in the following minutes. Pacos Ferreira didn’t feel the goal that much and tried to stay more with the ball and create the plays. Unfortunately, they didn’t create any real chances of danger. So, the away team went to the locker room with a small advantage on the scoring.
The second half was even worse. Since the comeback of the Portuguese League, Porto hasn’t been showing their good football, and this was just another example of that. There were a few chances for the hosts, this time obligating goalkeeper Agustin Marchesin to make some good saves to maintain their lead.
The Dragons also had one single chance of doubling the scoring but stopped on the hands of Ricardo Ribeiro. In the end, the match ended with the same 1-0 that was built in the initial minutes of the game.
With the victory, FC Porto remained on the top of the table, now with 70 points, which is 6 clear of second-place Benfica. Pacos Ferreira remained with the same 31 points and currently in 13th place. However, their position on the table can change until the end of matchday 29.
